Humour in the Workplace
Break Up or Break Down: Humour as a Coping Skill Workshop
Some people believe that work shouldn’t be fun. If it were supposed to be fun, it wouldn’t be called work.
Humour in the workplace is not about telling jokes or pulling pranks on people (although in healthy workplaces, these occur from time to time) but rather about reframing situations so that creativity is increased and stress is reduced.
Neither creativity nor wellness can flourish in an atmosphere that is grim, demanding, rigid, and over-authoritarian.
Even environments in which there are a great number of rules and regulations can be places where people are committed to introducing humour (and thus, sanity) into the workplace.
We focus on identifying methods of introducing humour, using humour to reduce stress and increasing creativity. Come prepared to laugh – and to learn.
